I.The service

The Bureau provides, at shadowlab.cyou:

• Part I — the Classification Survey (free): 30 items answered in your browser, scored locally, producing an instant classification. Nothing is transmitted; see the Privacy statement.
• The Classification Annex (US $7, one-time purchase): the complete personnel file — the unredacted finding computed from your field-exercise answers, margin annotations on your six responses, the career file, the team-fit matrix, and the reference shelf — delivered as a printable dossier (typically 12 pages) directly from your browser's print dialog.

II.Orders, payment, and delivery

Payments are handled by Waffo Pancake, which acts as merchant of record: Waffo Pancake charges you, collects applicable tax, and issues your receipt. Card and payment details are processed entirely on their platform and never reach our servers. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

After payment, your annex unlocks as soon as the payment is verified against your file — typically within seconds of you entering the order ID from your receipt. Cases that require manual verification are resolved within 24 hours. Your order ID is your claim ticket: keep it, and don't share it, because anyone holding it can claim the file against it.

III.30-day refund

The Bureau does not keep money for broken files. Within 30 days of purchase, you are entitled to a full refund if:

• your annex was never delivered or could not be unlocked;
• the dossier was delivered in a broken or unusable state; or
• the dossier was materially not what this site describes.

Request it at support@shadowlab.cyou with your file number and order ID, and it will be processed through Waffo Pancake back to your original payment method. On refund, the file is voided: the stored report and answers are deleted and the file number is retired.

IV.Nature of the instrument

The Developer Classification Survey is an unscientific-but-considered instrument — a personality-style assessment built for reflection and entertainment. It is not a validated psychometric test. It measures how you answer a 30-item form, not your worth as an engineer, and its output must not be used for hiring, promotion, compensation, clinical, or any other high-stakes decisions about any person, including yourself. The Bureau would be the first to say so.

V.Your answers and the dossier

Your answers are yours. The generated dossier is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use: read it, print it, shelve it, quote a line if you credit the Bureau. The survey items, the scoring model, the report text, and the site's design remain the property of the site operator. You may not resell the dossier, republish the item bank, or run the survey programmatically at scale.

VI.Acceptable use

Don't attempt to break the site: no scraping the item bank, no automated bulk submissions, no attempts to access other visitors' files, no interference with the payment-verification pipeline. The API is rate-limited; the limit is the notice.

VII.Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and the total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is capped at the amount you paid (US $7). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Payment-related buyer protections may additionally be available to you under Waffo Pancake's buyer terms as merchant of record.

VIII.Changes to these terms

Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date; purchases are governed by the terms in effect at the time of the purchase.
